Cascina Luisin is a small, traditional estate in Barbaresco, farmed by the Minuto family for well over a century. Rabajà is one of the appellation's most famous crus, and this Nebbiolo shows the brooding, earthy power for which the site is known.
Made with long macerations and ageing in large casks in the classic Piedmontese style, it is a deep, complex Barbaresco. Look for aromas of macerated cherry, blood orange and dried rose, layered with white pepper, mint, leather and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is ample and savoury, with firm, refined tannins, fresh acidity and a long, saline finish.
Among the more powerful and age-worthy of Barbarescos, it pairs beautifully with braised beef, game, truffle dishes and aged cheeses.
