Casanova di Neri is one of the most acclaimed estates in Montalcino, founded in 1971 and renowned for benchmark, age-worthy Brunello. Tenuta Nuova is its flagship cru, drawn from carefully studied vineyard sites planted to deliver the finest Sangiovese.
Made entirely from Sangiovese and matured for around thirty months in tonneaux within the estate's underground cellars, it is a powerful yet refined Brunello. Look for deep aromas of black cherry, wild berry and violet, layered with toasted spice, liquorice, balsamic herbs and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and richly structured, with ripe, polished tannins and a long, savoury finish.
This is a serious wine built for the cellar that will reward many years of patience. Serve with braised beef, game, wild mushroom dishes and aged Italian cheeses.
