Barossa Valley Wine Company sources from established blocks across the Barossa, working with growers across the warm valley floor and cooler eastern reaches to build wines that capture the region's hallmark generosity. The Ironclad GSM joins the company's premium Ironclad line, a Barossa-classic blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre that brings together the perfumed lift of Grenache, the rich fruit of Shiraz and the savoury structure of Mourvèdre.
Each variety is hand-picked separately, fermented in small open vessels and matured in seasoned oak before final blending. The aim is a wine that puts fruit first, with oak sitting in the background as a quiet supporting note rather than the lead instrument.
The wine pours a deep crimson, with aromas of raspberry, plum and dark cherry lifted by sweet spice, dried herbs and a touch of cured meat. The palate is medium to full bodied with supple texture, soft fine tannins, juicy red and dark fruit and a savoury, lingering finish that pairs naturally with grilled meats and warm-weather dining.
