Auchentoshan American Oak is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Auchentoshan distillery in the Lowlands of Scotland, just outside Glasgow. Auchentoshan is known for triple distilling all of its whisky, an unusual practice in Scotland that produces a notably light, smooth and delicate spirit.
This expression is matured entirely in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, and the wood shapes its sweet, approachable character. The aroma leads with vanilla and coconut alongside green apple and a touch of citrus and tropical fruit.
On the palate it is creamy and soft, with vanilla, honeyed sweetness, gentle oak spice and a malty backbone. The finish is warming and gentle, carrying oak, lemon peel and honey. Easy-drinking and elegant, it is a fine introduction to the Lowland style, served neat or over ice.
