La Miranda de Secastilla is a characterful red from Viñas del Vero, one of the leading names of Somontano in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees. It draws on old-vine Garnacha grown in the Secastilla Valley, where stony hillsides climbing above 700 metres and a distinctly Mediterranean microclimate give the fruit real depth and freshness.
Garnacha leads the blend, joined by the local Parraleta variety and a touch of Syrah. A period of maturation in French oak rounds out the wine and adds a gentle, spicy frame to its generous fruit.
Expect a deep cherry-red colour and an inviting nose of ripe red and dark berries lifted by floral notes. The palate is warm and rounded, making it a natural match for roast meats, hearty stews and mature cheeses.
