Oude Rhubarbe Tilquin à l'Ancienne is a traditional fruit lambic from Gueuzerie Tilquin, the only lambic producer in French-speaking southern Belgium. Pierre Tilquin founded the gueuzerie in Bierghes in 2009 as a blendery: rather than brewing its own wort, it buys freshly made lambic from respected brewers such as Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon, then ferments and matures it spontaneously in its own oak barrels.

This release is built on a blend of one, two and three-year-old oak-aged lambics macerated with fresh rhubarb, then refermented in the bottle in the traditional à l'ancienne method. Like all of Tilquin's beers, it is left unfiltered and unpasteurised.

Expect aromas of stewed and freshly cut rhubarb, green apple, hay and old oak. The palate is tart, dry and minerally, with a vegetal rhubarb tang that is rounded and softened by the aged lambic base, finishing crisp and refreshing.
