Swartland Chenin Blanc, a key global expression of the grape, is sourced from the Langkloof vineyard, an old bush vine Chenin Blanc planted on the Paardeberg's granite slopes and owned by the Roussouw family. Extensive vineyard work during the growing season ensures a healthy, balanced crop. Harvesting focuses on maintaining acidity, which can diminish rapidly due to the granite soils. This Chenin Blanc is exceptionally clear and bright, with aromas of frangipani, yellow pear, raw honey, and straw. The nuanced palate features ripe yellow apples, oatcakes, and grapefruit rind, leading to a long, textured, and pithy finish. Cellaring will enhance its aromatic complexity.
