Silkman Wines is the Hunter Valley label of Shaun and Liz Silkman, who both grew up in the region and launched their own small-batch project in 2013 after years making wine at First Creek. Their focus is on the varieties the Hunter does best, Semillon, Shiraz and Chardonnay, crafted with a modern, polished touch that has earned the label a reputation as one of the most exciting in the valley.
This Chardonnay shows the progressive, elegant side of Hunter Valley Chardonnay. Ripe melon, white peach and preserved citrus peel lead the way, layered over a subtle flinty edge and gently toasty oak. The palate brings flavours of pineapple and nectarine with a creamy texture and a touch of spice from carefully integrated oak, finishing with good body, bright acidity and persistence.
