Ron Barcelo Gran Anejo is a smooth, characterful dark rum from the Dominican Republic, where the Barcelo family has been crafting rum since 1930. It is blended from Dominican rums matured in ex-bourbon oak casks, giving it depth and a rounded, sipping-friendly personality.
The rum shows a bright amber colour and an inviting nose of melted caramel, butterscotch and warm wood spice, lifted by hints of vanilla, orange and banana. On the palate it is medium-bodied and gently dry, with flavours of dark chocolate, toasted hazelnut and honeyed sweetness, before a lingering finish of black pepper and cinnamon.
Versatile and approachable, it is equally at home sipped neat, served over ice, or forming the backbone of a classic rum cocktail.
