Domaine Pernot Père & Fils was founded in 1900 and is based in Brochon, on the northern edge of Gevrey-Chambertin. Pascal Pernot, the fourth generation, took over in 2018 and farms around seven hectares of mostly old vines, with a sustainable approach that is gradually adopting biodynamic practices.
This village Gevrey-Chambertin is made with mostly destemmed fruit, fermented with natural yeasts over at least two weeks and aged in French oak barrels for around 18 months. It shows the classic Gevrey profile of dark cherry and blackberry fruit with earthy, savoury undertones, firm but fine tannins and the structure to develop well over the coming years.
A natural partner for roast beef, lamb shoulder, coq au vin or Époisses.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
