Penfolds Grange is Australia's most famous wine and one of the world's great reds, first crafted by visionary winemaker Max Schubert in 1951. A predominantly Shiraz-based wine drawn from select vineyards across South Australia, it is a multi-regional expression built for power, complexity and extraordinary longevity.
Matured in new American oak, Grange is bold and richly concentrated. It shows aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum and blackcurrant layered with notes of mocha, dark chocolate, liquorice, warm spice and a signature waft of cedar and vanilla from the oak.
The palate is deep, full bodied and seamless, with dense dark fruit, savoury complexity and beautifully integrated oak. Muscular yet refined tannins provide a framework that carries the wine through a long, intense finish. Superb now with air, it is a wine designed to evolve gracefully over decades in the cellar.
