Paraiso Lychee Liqueur is produced in France by the Cognac house Louis Royer, part of the Suntory group. The liqueur was first launched in Japan in 1998 and takes its name from the Spanish and Portuguese word for paradise. It is made using lychees sourced from South East Asia, the spiritual home of the fruit, which is prized in southern China as the King of Fruits.
The liqueur is light and pale in the glass, opening with fragrant aromas of fresh lychee and citrus flowers. The palate captures the pure essence of ripe lychee, with bright floral stone fruit, a soft creamy note and balanced sweetness. The finish is long and lingering, carrying sweet lychee and a gentle sugar fade.
Paraiso can be enjoyed at room temperature or lightly chilled, and works particularly well served over ice with a squeeze of lime and a top of soda. The liqueur is also a versatile cocktail ingredient, lending itself to martinis, spritzes and a wide range of mixed drinks.
