Devil Bend Creek is the approachable regional label from Moorooduc Estate, the family winery founded on the Mornington Peninsula in 1982 by Richard and Jill McIntyre. It is built around fruit from the northern end of the peninsula, with the Osborn family's north-facing vineyard long forming the backbone of the range.
The winemaking follows the same hands-on, minimal-intervention approach as the estate's top wines. The fruit is hand-picked and fully destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts with extended time on skins, then matured in older French oak so the fruit remains the focus.
Bright garnet in the glass, the 2025 shows juicy red cherry, warm spice notes of cinnamon, cardamom and black pepper, and a floral lift of pink rose petals. The palate is tangy and vibrant with fine, silky tannins and a fleshy finish. It is a versatile Pinot that pairs nicely with grilled lamb cutlets or dishes carrying a little chilli or Moroccan spice.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
