The Japan Brewery Company was launched in 1885 after it took over the reins of what was formerly Spring Valley Brewery, which was established in 1869 in Yokohama by Norwegian-American brewer William Copeland. With a range of Japanese investors, The Japan Brewery Company first produced Kirin Beer in 1888. Taking over the assets of Japan Brewery in 1907, The Kirin Brewery Company was founded and stepped up a gear, using premium German hops and malt and German brewers to ensure the production of premium, European-style Japanese beer. Kirin Ichiban is a 5% ABV pale lager that's complex, clean, smooth, refreshing and delicious!
