Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch #13 is a Campbeltown single malt from the Glengyle Distillery, run by Mitchell's Glengyle and part of the extended Springbank family. Reopened in 2004, Glengyle helped restore Campbeltown's standing as one of Scotland's classic whisky regions.
This is the thirteenth release in the popular Heavily Peated series, matured predominantly in bourbon casks with a smaller portion of sherry casks. It is bottled at natural cask strength, without chill filtration and with no added colour, keeping the whisky as honest and full-flavoured as possible.
Expect a generous wave of peat smoke wrapped around creamy butterscotch, orchard fruit and honeycomb, with a maritime edge and a long, smoky finish that is quintessentially Campbeltown. A few drops of water will open it up further.
