Sanaig Cask Strength Limited Edition released in 2024. This release uses the same recipe as the regular Sanaig bottling however, it is bottled at cask strength 57.8% ABV rather than the regular release with 46% ABV.
Named after an inlet on Islay’s rugged Atlantic coast, Sanaig was matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. The high proportion of Oloroso sherry influence adding a balance of dried fruits and spices to classic Kilchoman citrus sweetness and peat smoke character. The sherry casks are sourced from José y Miguel Martín and the consistency of these casks is really highlighted at the higher strength.
Nose: Toffee sweetness and dark fruits with red berries and smoked oak.
Taste: Intense sweetness and spiced dark chocolate with raisins, liquorice and warming rich peat smoke.
Finish: Lingering sweetness and spices with integrated smoke throughout.
