Joshua Cooper's Regional Rosé is made in the Macedon Ranges from fruit grown across central Victoria, and takes its inspiration from the serious, structured rosés of the south of France. It is a blend of merlot, shiraz, pinot noir, malbec and cabernet sauvignon.
Orangey salmon in colour, it offers lively aromas of raspberry, cranberry, green almond and peppery spice over a subtle stony note. The palate is crisp yet concentrated, with bright, spicy red berry fruit, creamy texture from time on lees and feathery tannins that lend structure and a savoury finish.
The wine is fermented in large, old French oak and then aged on its lees for 11 months, an approach that builds texture and depth. The producer describes it as a wonderful food wine that will also gain complexity over the medium term.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
