Indri Agneya is a lightly peated single malt from the Piccadily Distillery in Haryana, northern India, and part of a new wave of Indian whiskies winning acclaim on the world stage. The name Agneya is drawn from Sanskrit, meaning belonging to fire, a fitting nod to the gentle smoky thread that runs through the spirit. It arrives presented in a smart gift box, making it an ideal choice for whisky lovers and special occasions.
Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks under India's warm climate, which coaxes rich flavour from the barrel, this is a wonderfully expressive malt. The nose opens with chocolate, vanilla and dried orchard fruits of apple and apricot, wrapped in a soft wisp of peat.
The palate leans into vibrant tropical fruit, with mango, ripe banana and melon balanced by toffee sweetness and a drier, oaky spice. It closes long and warming, with building pepper, a touch of liquorice and that signature ember of smoke lingering to the end.
