Grada makes specialty coffee liqueur in Melbourne, treating the coffee as the point of the exercise rather than as a flavouring, and Midnight Decaf is the version built for the end of the night.
It is made with a naturally decaffeinated organic specialty coffee from Mexico, given its own roast profile, then hot extracted and blended in Melbourne. The result is 99.9% caffeine free, so an after dinner round does not have to come at the cost of sleep.
The balance is sweet, smooth and more complex than the category usually manages, with caramel sweetness held in check by a drier finish. It is designed to be an espresso martini in a single ingredient: one pour over ice, shaken for about five seconds, and poured.
