Founded in 1897 on the banks of the River Lossie, Glen Moray has built a reputation for approachable, well-crafted malts, and this fifteen year old sits within its Elgin Heritage range. This expression is matured in two equal parts, with half resting in American oak in the distillery's classic house style and half in oloroso sherry casks that lend richness and spice. The extra years bring real depth, with the sherry influence shaping a fuller, more layered character.
On the nose it offers sherried oak and butter toffee with hints of dark chocolate and mixed spice. The palate is full bodied, showing finely oaked flavours, spiced dark chocolate and a whisper of smoke, before a long finish where the oak lingers and dried fruit sweetness slowly fades.
