Ghost Rock is one of the pioneer producers of Tasmania's Cradle Coast wine region (also known as North West Tasmania), established in 1999 when Colin and Cate Arnold purchased the former Patrick's Creek Vineyard. The estate today spans 27 hectares across several vineyards and is run by second-generation winemaker Justin Arnold and his wife Alicia Peardon. The Bonadale Vineyard, planted in 2010, is Ghost Rock's highest and most sun-exposed site.
100% Chardonnay from the single Bonadale Vineyard. Expect a cool-climate Tasmanian Chardonnay of layering and sophistication — aromas of stone fruit, lemon, cashew and subtle oak, with a concentrated, finely textured palate. The combination of the site's sun exposure and cooling Bass Strait breezes gives fruit of both ripeness and freshness.
Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed under inert conditions. Partial wild fermentation in French oak (a mix of puncheon and barrique), with partial malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring. Matured for around nine to eleven months in oak (a portion new), then bottled without fining or filtration.
