Génot-Boulanger is a family-run Burgundy domaine based in Meursault, with holdings spread across both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. Le Ronceret is a Volnay premier cru at the foot of the famous Champans slope, planted in the late 1950s on deep, gravelly Bathonian limestone soils that lend the wine a notable lift and aromatic detail.
The 2022 is a classically Volnay-leaning Pinot, all about perfume and finesse rather than weight. Red cherry, raspberry and rose petal sit at the front, with a fine spicy lift and a quiet, mineral undertow. The palate is silky and pure, with fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a long, lifted finish that speaks clearly of this elegant Côte de Beaune village.
An ideal partner for roast duck, slow-cooked rabbit, mushroom dishes or aged hard cheeses.
