Gaelic Cemetery is a joint-venture Clare Valley project between Neil and Andrew Pike (of Pikes Wines), vigneron Grant Arnold, and the Barletta brothers, Ben and Mario. The brief is simple: craft small volumes of premium, site-expressive Clare Valley wines with Neil Pike behind the winemaking. The single-estate vineyard sits at White Hut and was planted in 2006.
100% Clare Valley Riesling, made in the modern Australian dry style. Pale green in the glass, with the classic Celtic Farm nose of lemon, lime, fresh-cut apple and peach lifted by attractive floral notes. The palate is crisp, dry and precise, with balanced acidity carrying through to a long, clean finish — a punchy, fruit-forward Clare Riesling that over-delivers at its tier.
Machine-harvested in the cool of the morning, then crushed, chilled and pressed quickly at the winery. The juice is cold-settled and fermented with pure yeast culture in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over 25–30 days.
