Francesco Versio Barbera d'Alba 2023 750ml

Francesco Versio is a rising-star grower in Neive, in the heart of Barbaresco, working tiny parcels in the San Cristoforo and Currà MGAs (plus more recent additions in Starderi and Albesani). Francesco cut his teeth as cellar master at Bruno Giacosa under Dante Scaglione before starting his own label in 2013; he remains day-to-day winemaker at Figli Luigi Oddero alongside his own project of under 10,000 bottles a year.

100% Barbera d'Alba, a classic Langhe red built around the variety's trademark bright acidity and juicy fruit. Expect aromas of red cherry, plum and violet with subtle spice, leading to a supple, fresh palate with fine tannins and the mouth-watering lift that makes Barbera one of Piemonte's great food wines.

Fermented with native yeasts and matured in large Slavonian oak botti — the traditional Piemontese approach — allowing terroir and variety to speak clearly without masking oak.
