First Creek Wines is a family-owned winery in Pokolbin, founded in 1998 by Greg and Jenny Silkman. Today winemaker Liz Silkman leads the team, and she has been named Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year four times. This Hunter Valley Chardonnay belongs to the estate's classic range, made to show regional character in a generous, approachable style.
In the glass it is pale and bright, with aromas of white peach, melon and lemon pith. The palate is rich and true to the variety, offering passionfruit, grapefruit and ripe stone fruit. Subtle oak adds texture without dominating, and the wine finishes balanced and fresh.
Serve lightly chilled at 8 to 10°C alongside grilled chicken, summer salads or creamy seafood dishes.
