Domaine Tempier Bandol Blanc 2024 750ml
A Provençal white from Domaine Tempier, the iconic Bandol estate in family hands since 1834 and run today by the Peyraud family. The domaine was central to establishing the Bandol AOC in 1941 - a reform led by Lucien Peyraud - and is credited with reviving Mourvèdre as the defining grape of the appellation. White wine is a rare specialty here, making up just around 5% of production. Director Daniel Ravier has overseen winemaking for over two decades. Organic certified, biodynamic practising.
A blend of Clairette (around 60%), Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc, Marsanne and Rolle, from terraced hillside vineyards in a cooler corner of the AOC historically known for the quality of its whites. Expect a delicately floral white with a subtle note of anise, maritime freshness, distinctive minerality and a stony, saline finish - a wine that pairs beautifully with shellfish and grilled seafood, and develops honeyed, marine complexity with a few years in the cellar.
Hand-harvested, vinified in oak foudres to add length, structure and vertical line while preserving the vibrant fruit profile. Around 13% ABV.
