'La Gouzotte' is the entry point into the refined universe of Domaine Perrot-Minot, assembled from two parcels of old Pinot Noir vines — Chaponnières in Morey-Saint-Denis and Gravonnières in Chambolle-Musigny. Christophe Perrot-Minot farms his vineyards with great respect for the environment, working organically and declassifying fruit that would otherwise go into more prestigious appellations.
Expect a deep ruby wine with purple glints, opening on a bright basket of red and black berries — strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant and blueberry — accented by spice from around 40% whole-bunch fermentation. The palate is lively, structured and rounded, with real volume and flesh for a village-level Bourgogne.
Drinking confidently above its appellation, 'La Gouzotte' pairs well with poultry, charcuterie, pot-au-feu or a classic coq au vin.
