Domaine Follin-Arbelet's village Aloxe-Corton is drawn from the broader appellation on the Côte de Beaune, an area known for producing structured, age-worthy Pinot Noir with more concentration and body than villages further south. Run by Franck Follin and his son Simon from deep stone cellars in the village, the domaine delivers more finesse than is typical of Aloxe-Corton.
Fermented slowly in open-top wooden vats with indigenous yeasts and bottled without fining or filtration, this is a wine of approachable red and black fruit with robust structure, finely grained tannins, a savoury earthy edge and a long, mineral finish. An excellent entry point to both the domaine and one of Burgundy's most underrated appellations.
