Domaine Comte Armand's Bourgogne Rouge draws from plots situated below Volnay, Pommard and Meursault — parcels that fall just outside the higher appellation boundaries of this celebrated biodynamic estate. Run by winemaker Paul Zinetti since 2014, the domaine farms all holdings biodynamically with horse ploughing in select parcels.
The fruit is largely destemmed, fermented with ambient yeasts over two to four weeks, and aged 18 to 24 months in oak demi-muids with low new oak. Fresh red cherry, raspberry and subtle earth on the nose lead to a lighter, open-knit palate that offers an approachable, early-drinking introduction to the domaine's elegant Côte de Beaune style.
