Domaine Chaume-Arnaud is a biodynamic family estate in Vinsobres, in the northern reaches of the southern Rhône. Marie-Thérèse and Philippe Chaume-Arnaud farm their vines without synthetic chemistry, drawing on cooler-altitude parcels that lend their wines a freshness and detail not always associated with the broader Côtes du Rhône category.
The 2021 blends Grenache with Syrah and Cinsault into a medium-bodied red that's all about lift and savoury detail. Red and black berry fruit, sour cherry and pomegranate sit alongside notes of liquorice, cracked pepper and crushed stone. The palate is supple but vivid, with silky tannins, mineral undertones and a refreshingly clean, gravelly finish.
Versatile at the table, partnering well with grilled meats, roast vegetables, herb-crusted lamb or a charcuterie board.
