Château de La Chaize is the largest single estate in Beaujolais, with vineyards encircling the historic château at the foot of Mont Brouilly. The Lieu-dit La Chaize Monopole is the estate's flagship Brouilly, sourced from a contiguous block of vines wholly owned and farmed by the property, planted on weathered pink granite and clay soils that lend the wine its mineral spine.
The estate has transitioned to certified organic and biodynamic farming, with hand-harvested Gamay vinified using whole bunches and gentle infusion. Élevage is unhurried, allowing the wine to retain its fresh fruit aromatics while building structure and complexity.
Aromatically the wine shows lifted black cherry, violet and lily, with hints of pepper, vanilla and forest floor. The palate is silky and concentrated, framed by fine patinated tannins and a thread of smoky minerality that drives a long, elegant finish.
