Champagne Salon 'S' Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil 2015 750ml

Champagne Salon is a singular House built on an uncompromising philosophy: a single grape (Chardonnay), a single cru (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger on the Côte des Blancs), a single year, and only when the vintage is considered great. Founded in 1905 by Eugène-Aimé Salon, the House has released just 45 vintages in over 120 years; the 2015 is the 45th. The wine is drawn from the one-hectare 'Jardin de Salon' plot alongside 19 other small parcels in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger selected at the beginning of the 20th century.

100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The 2015 release sits in a graceful middle ground between riper and cooler years, with aromas of chamomile, white peach, candied citrus and toasted hazelnut layered over the house's trademark chalky, saline minerality. The mousse is fine and creamy, the palate concentrated yet vibrant, and the finish very long.

Aged on lees for approximately nine years in the Salon cellars before disgorgement and release. Bottled as an extra brut style. Always made only in exceptional vintages — never in lesser years.
