Casanova di Neri is one of the most acclaimed estates in Montalcino, founded in 1971 and celebrated for benchmark, age-worthy Brunello. This is the estate's classic Brunello, drawn from a selection of its prime vineyards and crafted entirely from Sangiovese.
Matured at length in oak within the estate's underground cellars, it is a powerful yet refined wine. Look for aromas of ripe black cherry and wild berry, violet and dried herbs, with hints of spice, leather and a balsamic lift. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with ripe, finely grained tannins and a long, savoury finish.
A serious Brunello that rewards cellaring, it is a natural match for braised beef, game, wild mushroom dishes and aged hard cheeses.
