The Carn Mor Strictly Limited range of Scotch Whisky from the Family-owned Independent Bottlers, Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, are a collection of Scotch whiskies from some of the finest distilleries in Scotland. What makes the whiskies so special is that all the whiskies are non-chill-filtered to keep all of the oils and proteins that give it that fantastic authentic and non-doctored flavour in the bottle. As real as it gets.
This 9 year-old scotch whisky was distilled in 2013 at the Speyside Aberlour distillery. The whisky was fully matured in ex-oloroso sherry barrels. Prior to bottling the whisky was proofed back to 47.5% ABV, with no chill-filtration or colour added. 1798 bottles were produced.
Simon's notes: The nose is rich stewed fruits, of sultanas, plums and orange citrus, with a cinnamon and nutmeg spice note in the back. On the pallet the spice and fruit notes sit comfortably over a layer of oak and a forest floor earthiness. A medium-long warming finish with fruits and spice both lasting.
