Cantillon Rose De Gambrinus 750ml

Rosé de Gambrinus is the raspberry lambic from Brasserie Cantillon and arguably the brewery's flagship fruit beer, instantly recognisable by its rosé-pink colour. Cantillon has brewed only spontaneously fermented lambic from its original Brussels home since 1900, cooling wort overnight in an open coolship and ageing it in old oak casks.

Raspberries, with a small proportion of cherries, are macerated in well-aged lambic for several weeks. Young lambic is then added to set off a natural second fermentation in the bottle. The fruit load is generous and nothing is sweetened, keeping the beer firmly in dry, traditional territory.

The aroma bursts with fresh raspberry, carried over a warm rosé hue, oak and gentle wild-yeast funk. On the palate it is vivid and tart rather than sweet, finishing crisp and fragrant.
