Brugal Añejo is an aged Dominican rum from Brugal, one of the founding rum houses of the Dominican Republic, where the family has been distilling since the late nineteenth century. Blended from rums matured in American oak ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, it carries the distillery's signature dry, refined style.
The nose is welcoming, leading with vanilla and caramel before deepening into chocolate and a touch of cedar. The palate is soft and buttery on entry, offering butterscotch, light caramel and toasted oak alongside gentle vanilla, hazelnut and a hint of dried fruit and spice. A defining feature is its dryness; heavier elements are removed during distillation, giving a clean profile that sets it apart from the richer, sweeter rums found across much of the Caribbean. The finish is warm and oak-driven.
