A varietal Cinsault from Brash Higgins — the McLaren Vale label of former New York sommelier Brad Hickey, known for minimal-intervention reds and whites drawn from the Omensetter vineyard and friends' vineyards across the Vale. CINS is one of the label's signature bottlings, showcasing an old-world Mediterranean variety in a McLaren Vale setting.
Ruby-hued and bright, with aromas of black cherry, blood orange zest, ginger, nutmeg and white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied and vibrant, with well-integrated cherry and red fruit lifted by crunchy acidity and fresh spice, finishing clean and refreshing.
Made from Cinsault grafted to a former Semillon block at the neighbouring Lennon Vineyard in 2013. Hand-harvested, placed in open two-tonne fermenters for around two weeks with wild yeast, then gently basket-pressed into seasoned French hogsheads for around seven months before bottling.
