Bodega Catena Zapata Alamos Torrontes 750ml
Bodega Catena Zapata Alamos Torrontes 750ml
The Alamos range is made from bought in fruit (rather than being from the estate vineyards) that still represent great quality wines but at a lesser price point. Flush with classic, grapey, muscat, floral and peach notes the Alamos Torrontes is so tasty. The palate is quite fleshing and soft. There is a hint of acid and a bit of dough but ultimately this is just a really easy drinking wine. Best matched with a baked egg dish. Don’t age it, just enjoy.
The Catena family are pioneers of Mendoza. They have carved out a fine empire based on making quality wines from the region that put Argentina on the wine map. Since their large land holdings give them access to some of the the great sites of Mendoza, the resulting wines are outstanding. At the lower level the wines are probably a bit simple but not a bad wine is released here. Most of all I suggest you taste the Malbec based wines because they truly stand out.
Vintages may vary.
