Field Trip is a West Coast IPA from Boatrocker, the Braeside brewery founded in 2009 and a fixture of the Australian craft scene. It is a classic take on the style: dry, sharp and clean, and part of the brewery's core can range.
The hops do the talking, with grapefruit and citrus, fragrant pine and a touch of dank resin across both the aroma and the palate. A firm, clean bitterness arrives up front and lingers with a pine-and-rind bite.
The malt is kept deliberately in the background, leaving the beer dry, crisp and very drinkable.
