Blue Spot 7 Year Old Irish Whiskey 700ml

Blue Spot 7 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey, part of the historic Spot Whiskey range curated by the Dublin wine and spirit merchants Mitchell & Son and distilled at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork. The single pot still style is made from a mash of both malted and unmalted barley, a method that gives Irish whiskey its distinctive spicy, full-bodied character.

Aged for a minimum of seven years, this expression draws on three cask types, combining ex-bourbon barrels, sherry butts and Portuguese Madeira casks. It is bottled at cask strength and left non-chill filtered, preserving the full weight of flavour and a generous mouthfeel.

The nose is lively with pineapple, green banana and lime zest, layered over pot still spice, baked apple and toasted wood. The palate is smooth and rich, offering vanilla, caramel, candied lemon peel and warming clove and black pepper, while the finish is long and peppery with juicy tangerine and roasted nuts.
