Dick Tracy is an American-style brown ale from BentSpoke Brewing Co, the independent Canberra brewery founded in 2014 by champion brewer Richard Watkins and Tracy Margrain. Watkins is a two-time Australian Champion Brewer, and BentSpoke has become known for its hop-forward beers in distinctive 375ml cans, brewed across its Braddon brewpub and a dedicated facility in Mitchell.
This one balances a rich, robust malt base against a generous hop bill of Citra, Fuggles and US Cascade. Pine, orange and grapefruit-skin hop notes play over grain that brings subtle chocolate and a rolling roasted character.
The result is dank and chocolatey, a nod to BentSpoke's very first mash. It is brewed every Good Friday as a brewery tradition and forms part of the rotating Drifter Series.
