Archie Rose Single Cask Batch No. 2 Single Malt Whisky SM1497 showcases the rich, expressive character of Archie Rose's award-winning Single Malt Whisky, available exclusively through Barrel & Batch.
Matured for five years in an Australian fortified wine (apera) cask, this elegant yet weighty whisky displays notes of freshly baked raisin scones with clotted cream and fig jam, alongside wood-fired country bread and the perfume of wild bush honey.
NOSE: Opens with the aroma of freshly baked homemade sultana scones, clotted cream and fig jam. There is also wild honey with the floral accents of orange blossom and rose. With time, some herbal aromas emerge giving hints of parsley and sage.
PALATE: The palate is elegant and well weighted with a waxy texture carrying the flavour across the palate. There are roasted mixed nuts with cinnamon and nutmeg, sweet tobacco, brown sugar and the signature flavour of amaretto.
FINISH: Lingering and delicate with hints of well-brewed black tea, stone oven-baked rye bread and that same floral-scented wild honey.
