A Barrel & Batch exclusive, hand-selected from a single cask at the Barton 1792 Distillery and bottled at full proof, 62.5% ABV. From the first nose, this barrel surprised us with its vibrant confectionery character, delivering a profile that's both unmistakably 1792 and unlike anything we've tasted from the distillery. Lighter and more playful than its stablemate, this high-rye pick wraps a serious bourbon backbone in bright confectionery sweetness.
Nose: The familiar 1792 character of ripe banana, buttery toffee and vanilla opens before a rush of confectionery, raspberry gummies, strawberry syrup and freshly spun candyfloss, lifted by caramel popcorn and toasted marshmallow over a backbone of charred oak.
Palate: Rich and mouth-coating, with sweet toffee and caramel arriving first before a burst of red frog lolly, juicy raspberry, strawberry and cherry confectionery layered with fairy floss and burnt sugar, while full-proof strength drives warming cinnamon, cracked pepper and toasted oak.
Finish: Long and warming, the confectionery evolving into caramelised sugar, vanilla bean and toasted oak, with gentle tannins, leather and baking spice emerging late to balance the lingering raspberry candy and candyfloss sweetness.
