Bourbon is best understood at its source, and on a recent trip to Four Roses Distillery, I had the privilege of going straight to the heart of it.

Spending time with Hiroshi Yamaguchi (CEO) and Brent Elliott (Master Distiller) was an unforgettable experience. These guys live and breathe whisky, and they welcomed me into their world—deep-diving into their unique 10 mash bills, proprietary yeast strains, and meticulous distilling process.

Inside the lab, I had the rare opportunity to sample unreleased experimental recipes and taste single barrels aged up to 30 years. It was a masterclass in bourbon, a showcase of Four Roses’ precision, passion, and innovation.
