Flavours burst onto the palate, rich and sweet, including maple syrup, dark chocolate, almonds and raisins. The finish lingers nicely – hints of vanilla gently fade away with a warming trace of caramel at the end. Wolfburn is the northernmost distillery in mainland Scotland, producing fine malts at the edge of the world. Wolfburn distillery has just one pair of Forsyth’s copper pot stills, but they’re about quality, not quantity. Every batch is distilled, matured and bottled by hand. Since being founded in 2013, they’ve managed to pick up nine awards for their single malts, including gold class at the World Whiskies Awards.
