Ukiyo Japanese Nashi Pear Gin is a flavoured gin distilled in Chiba, to the east of Tokyo, drawing on Japanese botanicals to create a crisp, subtly sweet style. The nashi pear, a fragrant Asian pear prized for its delicate juiciness, sits at the heart of the gin, supported by a cast of native ingredients including sakura, yuzu, sansho and mikan peel.
On tasting it leads with juniper, crisp pear and bright citrus, layered with yuzu and shiso, while gentle white pepper, orris root and a whisper of green tea add structure and intrigue. Rather than being overtly sweet, the pear lends an elegant, aromatic lift that keeps the classic gin backbone intact and balanced.
