A limited-edition single malt distilled in 2007 showcasing distinctive styles of exceptional oak casks. An unexpected selection of sherry seasoned and red wine casks alongside bespoke hybrid casks in an 18-Year-Old whisky with glittering depth
and character bottled at 45.5%.
Russell Greig, Whisky Maker and avid Bond fan, created the whisky to reflect the story arc of the film. In 2022, to celebrate James Bond’s 60th anniversary, The Macallan collaborated with EON (previous owners of the James Bond franchise) to
create a collection of six limited edition packs inspired by each of The Six Decades of Bond.
Following this success, Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release reunites The Macallan and James Bond.
CASK
•First Fill sherry seasoned European oak casks delivers coffee, figs and berry notes.
•First fill American oak casks which have previously held red wine reflecting Bond’s forensic knowledge, brings cocoa powdered champagne
truffles and red berries.
•First fill hybrid sherry seasoned oak casks, custom made from both American and European Oak staves, highlight not everything is as it seems,
bringing complexity in a rich, dark whisky from European oak, then vanilla and apricots, and a creamy smooth mouthfeel from American oak.
•Refill sherry seasoned oak casks, balance all the flavours and opens the integrated, sweet polished oak.
EXPERIENCE
The whisky is a journey through the film itself.
On the palate, surprising light sweetness, an unexpected twist if admiring the whisky’s dark natural colour inspired by Nevada Rock.
Initial creamy vanilla and caramel hints, coffee and cocoa powdered champagne truffles, are followed by fruit driven darker complexity.
Apricots and berries, and a scintilla of nutmeg.
A satisfying long finish.
