Produced from Balvenie matured in three different types of cask: first-fill American oak barrels, traditional refill casks and first-fill Oloroso Sherry butts. The producers say to expect subtle spice and honeycomb flavors. Balvenie: whisky made using rare crafts and time-honored methods. They’re not only the sole Scottish Highlands distillery to still grow and sow their own barley for malting, they also operate one of the few working floor maltings left in Scotland. Their whiskies are aged up to 50 years and each expression is unique, but all are rich, smooth and distinctively honeyed.
