Tenuta delle Terre Nere, founded by Marc de Grazia on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, is one of the producers that brought international attention to the volcano's distinctive wines. Alongside its acclaimed single-contrada reds, the estate makes this Etna Rosato as part of its classic range.
Made from Nerello Mascalese grown on vines 25 to 60 years old in Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo, at 600 to 800 metres on mixed volcanic soils, it is a bright, energetic rosé with real substance. Expect delicate notes of wild strawberry, redcurrant and citrus peel, with a crisp, mineral line and a surprising complexity for the style. While it is made to be enjoyed in its youth, it also gains interest with a little time in bottle.
Remarkably versatile at the table, it suits seafood, poultry, pasta dishes, cured meats, olives and fresh cheeses.
