Pilsner Urquell Czech Pilsner 4.4% 24 Pack Bottles 330ml

Pilsner Urquell is the original pilsner, first brewed in 1842 in the Czech city of Plzeň by Bavarian brewer Josef Groll. The name Urquell means "original source", and the beer remains the benchmark for the golden lager style it created, which went on to become the most widely brewed style of beer in the world.

It is still brewed in Plzeň using soft local water, Moravian barley malt, Žatec (Saaz) hops and a traditional triple decoction mash, the same core process used since the beginning. It pours a deep golden colour with a dense white head. The aroma is lightly floral and bready, and the palate balances a rich, slightly caramel malt sweetness with a crisp, lingering hop bitterness.

Serve well chilled in a tall glass with a generous head. It is a great match for roast pork, goulash, sausages, grilled meats and hearty Central European fare.
